A Case Of The Mondays!!

4:40 am came WAY too early this morning. I use Mondays as a rest day, so I had nothing to motivate me to get out of bed. It was a pretty good weekend getting stuff done around the house. Except for one thing: The dreaded tupperware cupboard!!

That's just the top shelf. I've been putting it off and putting it off, but it finally got to the point that I was flat out afraid to open it for fear something would fall out and break my toe. I have a slight obsession for Tupperware. I can't help myself. Maybe there is Tupperware Anonymous somewhere out there. So, when I got home from work today I put on my big girl pants and cleaned it out.

I threw a ton of stuff away and can now sleep at night knowing it's cleaned out and I don't have to worry about a possible emergency room visit when I open the doors.


Yes, it's true. I do love the occasional golden arch. My dad is coming up tonight, so it was going to be something simple and straight out of the drive thru window *gasp*. Don't worry though....I had the Southwest Salad and maybe a small fry. Matt had the two cheeseburger meal, a coke, and two apple pies. Men and their fast metabolisms make me sick. I gained 5 pounds just looking at that meal.

Well, I'm out!!

Happy Weekend!!

Hey guys!! How is everyone's weekend going? Mine has been pretty good thus far. Sorry it's been a few days. Sometimes life just gets in the way and I'm ok with that really. I was freaking out that I missed a few days blogging, but once I sat back, I realized that it will happen sometimes. Rule #1 for myself: sometimes I won't be able to blog everyday and that's ok.

I started my day at the dentist....Boo!!!!
Nothing major. Just a filling. Who wants to do that first thing on a Saturday morning though? Once that was done, I headed home and threw dinner into the crock pot. Ahhh....how I love thee crock pot.

*Polish Kraut and Kielbasa*

Smoked Turkey Kielbasa


Brown Sugar

Apple Juice

Throw all that in the crock pot and let it cook for about 4 hours.

The actual recipe calls for apples as well, but I have never done that.

A little tid bit- once I make a recipe so many times, I have no idea what the measurements are. I just throw stuff in. Sorry for no exact measurements.


Once I was done putting dinner in the crock pot, I took a nice 6 mile run through the downtown area where I live. It's a nice day here so I took full advantage of that.

I forgot to put sunscreen on though. Hopefully I won't look like leatherface tomorrow!!

Post Workout Smoothie

As soon as I was done, I made up this delicious baby

Into the blender went:

1 cup almond milk

1 cup frozen strawberries

1/2 cup crushed pineapple

1 scoop Jillian Micheals Chocolate Protein Powder


It was delicious!!

I also added a drop of this little beauty!! This stuff is AMAZING!! It's like a tropical vacation in a glass. For real :)

Well, I'm out to finish dinner and get my eyebows done (it's been WAY too long)

Holy Weather!!

This was my view on my way home today!! Whoa!! Those of us here in the mitten state are used to ALL kinds of crazy weather, but today was A DAY!!

While at work, we had to take cover and a tree fell in the parking lot. Crazy Stuff

What better way to end a day with some crazy storms?

A snack size Rolo McFlurry from McDonalds and I ate every. last. stinking. bite. It was delicious.

So yesterday, I was feeling under the weather and had been for the last few days. I usually weight lift on Tuesdays, but I knew that wasn't going to happen so I told myself I would just walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. After sitting in the locker room for 20 minutes (I might have been playing on my iPhone), I finally made it to the treadmill. I made it exactly 58 seconds before I hopped right off and ended up right back in the locker room.

I felt awful about not actually being able to work out, but a nice 3 mile run this morning made up for it!!

Does it bother you if something comes up and you can't work out?

For me, I don't let it bother me too much but I like my routine and I like the way working out makes me feel

....yes you read that right. Thank God It's Monday.

You see, this girls rest day is Monday. That means I do zilch, zip, nada (except work of course). So, I figured today would be the perfect day to introduce the man of the house


He is our two and a half year old Boxer who is an absolute delight. We got him when he was seven weeks old

He is the best dog EVER (of course I'm a little partial).

He is the best walking/running partner a girl could ask for. Just a quick little post to introduce him. I'm sure you will see lots more of him!!

Homemade Oatmeal Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies

*2 sticks butter-softened
*1 1/4 cup brown sugar
*3/4 cup brown sugar
*2 tsp. vanilla extract
*2 eggs
*1 1/2 cups flour
*1/2 tsp. baking powder
*1/2 tsp. salt
*3 cups old fashioned oats
*Add ins (if you choose....I had 1/2 a bag of Hershey Dark Chocolate Chips so I just threw those in there).

Preheat oven to 350
Beat sugars, butter, and vanilla with electric mixer until creamy.
Add eggs and beat until fluffy
Add flour, baking powder, and salt and beat on LOW until well blended
Stir in oats and any additions. Blend all together
Form into balls (about a tablespoon size...or two tablespoons if you like) and place on sprayed cookie sheet
Bake 16-18 minutes
Let cool
Remove from cookie sheet
Eat and enjoy!!

Makes about 3 dozen cookies
